The hierarchy nobody publishes

Marbella's beach clubs are not interchangeable. Each has a specific crowd, price point and energy — and the gap between the right and wrong choice for your group is significant. This is the working hierarchy locals actually use in 2026.

The grown-up trio

  • Marbella Club Beach Club — the standard against which everything is measured. Guests of the hotel and Beach Club members. Discreet, generational, no DJ.
  • Puente Romano Beach Club — slightly more international, Nobu-adjacent crowd, daybeds from €120.
  • Trocadero Playa — the long-running locals' favourite. Best seafood, easy reservation. Daybeds from €80.

The social pair

  • Nikki Beach Marbella — iconic, white-on-white, weekend DJ brunches. Daybeds from €250 with €500 minimum spend in peak.
  • Ocean Club Marbella — the Champagne Spray Sundays original. Booked solid July and August. Beds from €200.

The Estepona challengers

  • Bono Beach — increasingly takes the Marbella crowd west on weekends. Better food than most of its Marbella peers. Daybeds from €70.
  • Purobeach Estepona — adults-only, Balearic energy, infinity pool over the sea. Daybeds from €100.

The wild card

  • Coco Beach (Marbella East) — chic family club, well-priced, the locals' open secret. Daybeds from €60.

Booking strategy

In July and August, every front-row bed at every club above is reserved before the weekend starts. Either book a fortnight ahead or be at the door for opening at 11:30. Walk-ins after 13:00 are essentially impossible for the top three.

The cost of a typical Sunday

A front-row daybed for four at one of the social pair, lunch and a bottle of rosé, sunset cocktails: €600–€900 all-in. A version of the same day at Trocadero or Coco: €250–€400. The experience is genuinely different. Both are valid.
