La Concha (1,215m)

The iconic Marbella summit. 12 km round trip from the Refugio de Juanar car park. 1,000m ascent. Scrambling near the top. 5–7 hours. Do it once, brag for life.

Cruz de Juanar

A friendlier 6 km loop from the same car park. 2 hours. 360° views of Marbella, La Concha and the Mediterranean.

Charca de las Mozas (Benahavís)

The Río Guadalmina canyon swimming holes. 4 km from Benahavís village. Carry a swimsuit June–September.

Río Guadaiza

A flat 8 km riverside walk from Aloha to Benahavís. Easy, shaded, year-round.

Las Angosturas

The Río Verde gorge between Marbella and Istán. Wading, light scrambling. Stunning. Hire a guide in summer for safety.

Lago de Istán

A 7 km loop around the reservoir. Mostly flat. Beautiful at golden hour.

Frigiliana to Nerja

A 9 km descent through the white village's hills, ending at Burriana beach for lunch.

Practical notes

Avoid La Concha and Cruz de Juanar between mid-June and mid-September — start at sunrise or wait for October. Water is required everywhere. Trail signage has improved sharply in 2024–25 but offline maps (komoot / Wikiloc) are still essential.
