Casares property

€400K – €10M

Casares is the western municipality of the Costa del Sol, sitting between Estepona and Manilva. Its showpiece is Finca Cortesín — a 215-hectare resort with one of Europe's best golf courses (host of the 2023 Solheim Cup), a 5-star hotel and a discreet villa estate. Beyond Cortesín, the Casares coast is genuinely quiet — Bahía de Casares, Casares Playa, La Alcazaba Lagoon and Doña Julia Golf.

For 2026, beachfront resort apartments trade €400K–1M, Finca Cortesín villas €4–10M, and the upper La Alcazaba Lagoon resort apartments €600K–1.5M.

The Finca Cortesín effect

Finca Cortesín has materially reshaped the upper end of the Casares market. The course is widely considered one of the best three or four in Spain. The hotel is genuinely 5-star (and Forbes-rated). The villa estate is gated, low-density and selective on resale, with the most prominent recent transactions in the €6–10M range.

La Alcazaba Lagoon and the resort apartment market

La Alcazaba Lagoon is one of the original Crystal Lagoon resort projects in Spain — a 1.4-hectare swimmable lagoon at the centre of a gated apartment community. It has driven steady mid-market apartment demand and pricing in the €500K–1.2M band. Doña Julia Golf and the Bahía de Casares apartment pockets fill out the mid-market.

Honest trade-offs

Casares is quiet — meaningfully more so than Estepona, let alone Marbella. The trade-off is character. For buyers who specifically want privacy, golf and resort infrastructure, it is excellent. For buyers who want walkable town life or a deep restaurant scene, it is the wrong end of the coast.

Frequently asked questions

Is Finca Cortesín worth the premium?
For golf-led UHNW buyers, yes — the course, hotel and estate are genuinely best-in-class. For non-golfers, the premium is harder to justify.
How far is Casares from Málaga airport?
Roughly 80–90 minutes by car.
